Yves heeft geen enkele vooropleiding gehad als licht technicus, Yves kwam eigenlijk bij toeval bij Céline terecht in 1989 tijdens de laatste paar shows van de “Incognito tour”, hij moest invallen voor de toenmalige licht technicus en leerde de show en de licht effecten in de auto op weg naar de show. En hij mag dan wel bij pure toeval bij Céline terecht gekomen zijn, het is zijn talent wat hem heeft gebracht waar hij nu is.
Naast dat Yves voor Céline werkt, heeft hij ook samengewerkt met Garou tijdens de Europese en Canadese tours, met Human Nature in Australië, en heeft hij voor Julio Iglesias mogen mee reizen tijdens zijn wereld tour.
